Training Materials

Classes for Cardinal users are available through the VDOT University for VDOT employees.

These courses are offered in various different formats:

·         WBTs (web-based training) may be taken online through the VDOT University.

·         ILTs (instructor-led training) may be taken at various locations throughout the state, by registering at the VDOT University.

·         FWBTs (facilitated web-based training) are WBTs that are led or facilitated by an instructor, who can assist and answer questions.

To receive credit for the courses taken, users must access WBTs and enroll in ILTs using VDOT University.

The course presentations and simulations are provided below, and may be printed off for reference / review.

If you need an ILT or would like access to the Cardinal Training Environment, please send an email to ProjectCardinal@doa.virginia.gov, with "Training" as the subject.  Inside the email please elaborate on your needs and provide your contact information so we may reach you.
